How to use free Libby For PC, Mac – Windows 10, 8, 7

Download the Libby app on your PC. All over the world, local libraries offer millions of ebooks and audiobooks. You can borrow them for free, instantly with a library card and Libby: the award-winning, much-loved app for libraries.

What is the Libby PC app?

Libby for PC is a reading app for borrowing digital books and audiobooks from the library’s OverDrive collection. This free app, created by OverDrive, is available for Android, iOS, and Windows 10 devices. Libby for Windows app is highly recommended for those new to borrowing eBooks and eAudiobooks. The app allows you to instantly borrow OverDrive eBooks to read on your phone or tablet.

The Libby for PC app is a different browsing experience than the OverDrive app, and you may prefer it. You can let the app know that you read e-books on your Kindle by tapping on the menu, and then on Download Settings. When you check out a Kindle format e-book, it will send it to your Kindle, rather than downloading the book.

It makes it easy to switch between library cards or between different libraries. Open the menu, then tap on Switch Library or Library Cards. The best part is that all your digital checkouts from different cards and libraries are on the same shelf, so there is no need to switch between libraries or cards to read your books.

What does it Offer?

There are thousands of ebooks and audiobooks, hand-selected by your library, available for reading. Explore the collection through catalog guides, subjects, featured titles, and curated lists. It’s a delight to discover new books through Libby.

In Libby for PC app you can now borrow and place holds on the same title at different libraries. When doing so, the icon next to the title (known as a gem) updates its colors to reflect which of your libraries you’ve borrowed or placed the title on hold from.

For titles that you’ve placed multiple holds on, tapping the gem will give you more detailed information about each hold, including your estimated wait time. Using tags is a powerful way to track books you’ve loved or want to read in the future. Based on popular requests, you can now borrow or place a hold on titles directly from your Tags shelf.

You can view your reading progress in the current chapter at the bottom of the screen, on either side of the Chapters button or current chapter title: the number of pages completed is on the left, and the number of pages remaining is on the right. In the audiobook player, you can view your progress at the top of the screen: the total time lapsed appears in the left corner, your total book progress as a percentage is in the center of the screen, and the total length of the book appears in the right corner.
